Note from Executive re 2019 Play-offs

We’ve decided to make the playoffs a double round robin.

If we only had 3 games it could have run into some problems with tie breakers etc. 

So Playoffs start this week!

Puffer Hockey Update Wed Jan 30, 2019

From MEL: Good afternoon Puffer nation. As you know the weather is bad. If the city closes the arena, we don’t pay. However I have never known the city to close the arena unless all users for the night cancel. If we cancel for the evening we still pay for the icetime. That being said we will not be cancelling hockey. If you wish to stay home because of the weather it is no problem. If you do decide to come out to hockey expect a poor turnout and we may play a pickup game. We’ll see what the numbers are like. Please use caution in your decision.

Spares List

Good morning Puffer nation. 

Are there any of our previous years players out there who would like to spare for us? We’re trying to keep the teams full this season. 

Drop MEL a line if you or someone you know would like to go onto the spares list. 

This season we have more players than available spots on teams so we are implementing a new spares policy. 

Please let the executive know if you are going to miss any games. Even 1 game. That way we can get the new players into games. 

So if you are going to be away for Wednesday night let us know ASAP.

Fortunately Mel only needed 4 fingers to count on this year to make up the schedule.

Hello Puffer nation. Keep an eye on the Puffer website. Teams are being drafted Sept 18, Tuesday night and should be posted by weeks end.

Wednesday September 5, 6:30-8:00 pm at Shorty's Bar and Grill.

Shorty's Location: 967 3rd Avenue East, Owen Sound 

*****IMPORTANT NOTE - New Ice Times *****

Hello Puffer Nation 
Registration is soon and we have received our ice times for the season. 

East Rink : Game 1-9:15 start 

East Rink: Game 2-10:15 or 10:30 start (depending on response)

West Rink: Game 3- 10:00 start

We know these are not ideal times but there has been an increase in girls hockey and AAA Highlanders hockey.

What we would like to know is:

1-Is this going to affect you signing up?

2-Should we keep our games at 2, 30 minute periods or go back to a 20 minute and a 25 minute period?
